Early Spring!

It has been awhile since I posted here. This winter seemed to start early and last forever. Snow has been on the ground since early December, and we had weeks with temperatures remaining below zero Fahrenheit. Luckily, southeastern Ontario has experienced above average temperatures this past week,  leading to an early spring. The mountains of snow have dwindled and the ice on the lakes and rivers is breaking up. Maple shacks have begun processing syrup and the songbirds are beginning to return. The squirrels are out and about, leaving their nests high in the trees, and we even saw some new growth pushing up through the snow. All in all, it is a welcome reprieve and one we hope sticks around. Here’s wishing all of you a pleasant spring!
